Hello, fellow Chromies!
Yowza, what a week! The 2022 Consumer Electronics Show ran for most of it and although there were only a few new Chromebooks introduced, they are all exciting in their own way.
Acer's Chromebook Spin 513 is powered by a previously unannounced MediaTek processor, for example. Asus quietly upgraded its Chromebook Flip CX5 to have a 16-inch display and 12th-gen Intel chips. And HP? Wow, I think their new HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook is the best top-tier option I've ever seen. It too has the latest Intel chips, but has a super-bright display, 5G option, and a haptic trackpad!
Before you read up on those devices though, I have some Chrome OS news from Google to share about new features coming to Chromebooks this year. And the Chrome OS 97 stable channel is here, so I review what you'll find in it after you upgrade your Chromebook.
I'll warn you now: This is probably the longest newsletter I've ever sent. To quote a band member from my favorite group: "I've got blisters on my fingers!" ;) That's why I have anchor links above that will take you to the specific articles in this newsletter for faster navigation. Hope it helps!
Cheers,
kct
