This week's news from About Chromebooks: January 2, 2022
Hello, fellow Chromies!
First and foremost: Happy New Year! More important than Chromebook news is that you and your loved ones have a safe, healthy and joyous 2022.
On that note, we had some health challenges to deal with just before the holidays and I had considered taking a week off from the newsletter during the season anyway. But it's back now and I won't have school to deal with going forward. (Note to self: No more days off!)
As we wrapped up 2021, I shared my annual pick for the Chromebook of the year. It was the top story, not just for the week but for the month of December. I'm not sure if that means people agree with me or not. Scroll down to the first story to see what I chose, and why.
I've also uncovered some interesting changes in how to manage notifications on your Chrome OS device, as well as a handy new "Google side search" feature that you can try now. I find it useful to have my searches open in a browser tab in this little side section.
Lastly, I have my review of the HP Chromebook X2 11. Overall, it's a solid device, but another one that's more appropriately priced when on sale from the $659 MSRP. (Which a configuration similar to my review unit currently is for $449 at Best Buy in the US until January 3rd)
Cheers,
